Kia Soul: Master Cylinder. Removal
Master Cylinder assembly
1. |
Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery
cable.

2. |
Remove the ECM.
(Refer to Engine Control / Fuel System - “Engine Control Module
(ECM)”)

3. |
Disconnect the brake fluid level switch connector (A), and remove
the reservoir cap.
|
4. |
Remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir with
a syringe.
|
5. |
Disconnect the brake tube (A) from the master cylinder by loosening
the tube flare nut.
|
6. |
Remove the clutch hose. [MT only]
|
7. |
Remove the master cylinder (A) from the brake booster after loosening
the mounting nuts (A).

Master Cylinder Reservoir
1. |
Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery
cable.
|
2. |
Remove the ECM.
(Refer to Engine Control / Fuel System - “Engine Control Module
(ECM)”)
|
3. |
Disconnect the brake fluid level switch connector (A), and remove
the reservoir cap.
|
4. |
Remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir with
a syringe.
|
5. |
After loosening the mounting screws (A), then remove master cylinder
reservoir.
